Correct hormonal regulation reduces symptoms associated with menopause such as night sweats, flushing, muscle cramps and pain.
STARFLOWER OIL (BORAGE)
Borage is one of the richest natural sources of the essential fatty acid (EFA) Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA). GLA is important as a precursor for prostaglandin production. Prostaglandins are hormonelike chemicals that have an anti-inflammatory action and are involved in regulating the nervous, cardiovascular and reproductive systems. A deficiency of EFA’s can lead to menstrual irregularities.
CALCIUM
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body. It is essential for the formation and maintenance of strong bones and is an important mineral for women experiencing the menopause in order to reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
MEXICAN WILD YAM
Mexican Yam is natural source of diosgenin, a progesterone precursor, which has relaxant, antiinflammatory and antispasmodic properties and helps with abdominal muscle cramps associated with menopause.
AGNUS CASTUS (VITEX)
Traditionally Vitex has been used for menstrual problems resulting from corpus luteum deficiency, other menopausal conditions, premenstrual problems and for insufficient lactation. Modern research has shown that the action of Vitex is at the highest level of hormonal control, the pituitary of the brain.
CHOLINE
Choline is essential for cell membrane integrity and to facilitate the movement of fats in and out of cells. It promotes neuromuscular and brain function, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure and is important for the health of vital organs in the body such as the heart, liver and kidneys.
ZINC
Zinc is involved in numerous cellular enzymatic reactions. It promotes immune function, healthy reproductive organs, is vital for bone building and protects against free radical damage.
PFAFFIA
Pfaffia acts to restore balance to the endocrine system. It is also a rich source of vitamins and minerals.
MAGNESIUM
Magnesium is required for fatty acid metabolism, essential fatty acids are important for maintaining hormonal balance. Magnesium deficiency has been found to be a contributing factor to breast tenderness, nervous irritability and anxiety associated with menopause. It also promotes uterine relaxation, which may lessen the intensity of abdominal cramps.
VITAMIN E
Vitamin E has a powerful antioxidant activity and is helpful for several menopausal symptoms such as joint and muscle pains and depression. It can also reduce the incidence of hot flushes by correcting the associated vascular dysfunction.
