| Product Description |
The lastest edition to the Chantry stable and 2005 winner of the Design Plus award (Ambiente - Frankfurt). The Chantry Modern features 2 small butchers' steels - the same hardness, temper and cut as a professional steel. The steels are preset at the optimal edge angle and are spring loaded so as not to damage the knife.
Designed by Sam Hecht at Industrial Facility, the Chantry Modern is the 21st century version of our enduring classic.
Utilising the same proven mechanism and sharpening method found in all of our previous Chantry Sharpeners the Chantry Modern has been restyled to compliment the modern kitchen with clean lines and no-nonsense functionality.
As with all Chantry sharpeners, the Chantry Modern is suitable for knives with plain or serrated edges. No batteries are required and the steels are easily
replaceable.
Knife sharpeners - not knife grinders - so will not damage the knife. There are 3 models of the Chantry to choose from. The Chantry Modern (winner of a 2005 Design Plus award), the Chantry Classic (on permanent display in New York Museum of Modern Art - 1970s design) and the Chantry Retro (original 1940s design). Each model contains the same workings - choose the model that will best suit your work top. The Chantry is suitable for both plain and scalloped edges, carbon or stainless steel blades.
