Takei is a recognised company with products used in numerous research and diagnostic studies. Both Takei’s handgrip and back and leg dynamometers are permanent features throughout the world’s universities as measures of static strength. Takei has manufactured products for well over 20 years, measuring physical fitness, aptitude, psychological and physiological parameters.
The handgrip dynamometer is available with either a digital (A5401) or analogue face (A5001). Measuring flexion of the wrist, the handgrip dynamometer is able to give an accurate reading of grip strength, also estimating a general value for upper body strength.
It is easy to use and comes complete with instructions on the correct protocols to produce accurate results. The handgrip dynamometer is a standard piece of equipment in most physiology testing labs. The handgrip is suitable for the measurement of children as it has an easy to follow protocol and is one of the safest ways to measure muscular strength.
The dynamometer must be adjustable for hand size, how successfully this is done will affect the accuracy of the measurement. The handgrip dynamometer can be adjusted for a wide range of hand sizes and normative grip values are available from ages 10 to 70.
