Optical smoke detection system, can only be mounted with battery correctly installed, 4 warning signals for: low battery, false alarm, technical error, needs cleaning,
1 x 9v battery included.
Features (working priciple):
Optical smoke detection. Reacts instantly to all sorts of visible smoke - including smoke from
glowing and smouldering fire. Being optical, it "looks around" for fire - which means that the
alarm is very accurate as there must be smoke in order to activate an alarm.
Extended features:
The smoke alarm cannot be mounted unless a battery is installed.
The battery cannot be wrongly installed as the sizes of the +/- polarities in the battery compartment are different. Pausefunction for 10 minuttes (sensivity reduced to 50%) eg. in order to avoid a false alarm activated by smoke from a cold stove. Signal warning at low battery, cleaning, interruptions of the smoke chamber or in the event of a technical error.

Detektion cyclus: Every 8. second.
Alarm (volume): Alarm signal min. 85 dBA. The alarm will sound as long as there is
smoke in the detector. It automatically reverts to standby mode (normal sensitivity) when the smoke is gone.
Pause function (red button): By pressing the button the sensitivity is reduced by 50% for 10 minuttes. After the 10 minutes it automatically reverts to standby mode (normal sensitivity).
Visual indication:
1 flash every 8. second - Normal operation.
2 flashes every 8. second - Reduced sensitivity (pause function).
A continous flash - Smoke detection (fire).
Acoustic indication:
1 beep app. every minute - Low battery signal.
2 beeps app. every minute - False alarm due to light influence or outer interruptions of the smoke chamber.
3 beeps app. every minute - Technical error in the smoke chamber or electronic components.
4 beeps app. every minute - The smoke alarm is dirty.
Continous alarm - Smoke detection (fire).
Battery: 1 pcs. 9V battery (enclosed). Power source app. 10 uA. Voltage 9 VDC.
Battery replacement: Low battery signal beginns at 6,7 VDC. Normal function for at least 10 days from the first low battery signal.

Placement: For optimal detection the smoke alarm must be placed in the center of the room and always in the ceiling (smoke ascend).
Other:
Contrary to this optical smoke alarm, ordinary ioniation detectors react to heat which is likely to cause false alarms (eg. by heat from a warm oven etc.) Further they react slowly to glowing and smouldering fire as these types of fire takes long time to develop.
Error
1 beep: Change the battery
2 beeps: Remove the light influence or outer interruptions.
3 beeps: Return the smoke alarm for testing at the retailer where it was bought.
4 beeps: Clean the smoke alarm.
A false alarm can be stopped by pressing the red test button.
